Jonathan Terrasi

Trombone

A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Jonathan Terrasi studied with Megumi Kanda (Milwaukee Symphony) until beginning collegiate studies in music at Northwestern University in 2008. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music performance from NU in 2012, and currently plays with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Passionate about music education, he is also a member of their music outreach program, MusiCorps, performing for students throughout the Chicago Public Schools system. His main teachers include Michael Mulcahy, Peter Ellefson, Timothy Higgins, and Randall Hawes. His exposure to and involvement in classical music began at an early age, as both his parents are classically trained musicians, and he began performing professionally as a member of the Florentine Opera children’s chorus at age 9. Outside the practice room, Jonathan enjoys reading ancient literature, staying on top of current events, and writing poetry.
